The next 50 pages in my book. 150

Dashti told Lady Saren that she could leave the tower through the hole that she had made. Lady Saren should have been happy but she wasn't happy at all she was terrified. Dashti was pushing her out of the hole so she could see how beautiful it was to be out in the open. The first time Lady Saren went outside she was so scared that she clung to the side of the tower wall. Dashti told her that they would slowly work their way out each day so that's its not to much for Lady Saren to handle. After a few days they start traveling so that they can get to a town to get food and water so that they can survive. Lady Saren doesn't realize that Dashti is leading her straight towards Khans castle. They come upon Lady Saren's castle and it is all smashed and destroyed, it looks like a pile of rubble. Lady Saren started to scream when she saw what her castle destroyed, she told Dashti where to find the food because of the where the kitchen was. She went through it and found some kind of food that would help them get through the couple of days that you needed. They started to head to Khans castle and Lady Saren didn't even know where they were going because she was such a mess. They got to Khan's castle within a few days and needed food right away, on their journey to the castle they found a yak and decided that they had to sell it in order to get food. When they got to the gates one of the guards wouldn't let them in so they told him that they were mucker maids so that they could get hired and have a place to stay. Lady Saren refused to tell him who she really was and told him that she was Dashti's clan sister. They were both mucker maids and slept in the kitchen. They had to do lots of cleaning and washing of several different things to do. They occasionally got a half day off and one day Dashti got the day off but didn't want to leave Lady Saren and one of the other mucker maid girls said that she would take care of her. She came back and found Lady Saren to be a total mess and the maids were fed up with her. A few days later Dashti and another maid were walking down the hall and Dashti saw Khan and he was getting married to some other lady. Dashti was crushed that he didn't come back for them and thought he would wait for Lady Saren. She didn't know what to do, she went back and was talking to the other mucker maids about what she had just heard. Lady Saren still doesn't know the truth yet.

My 100 pages of Book of a Thousand Words.

I just finished part one in my book. In the last 60 pages that I have read nothing really happens it the book. It has gone from fall to winter now and its gets so cold that it sometimes is hard for the two girls to breathe. The guards that are supposed to bring the women milk everyday have only been bringing it every two or three days because it has been so cold. It starts to begin to turn into spring, and the ice melts and the women can feel the suns heat shinning down on them. The girls can hear the guards start talking again and Dashti goes to open the metal flap and put the wooden spoon in the opening to keep it held open. All of a sudden a hand came in the opening and grabbed Dashti's hand, it was Lord Khasar. Lord Khasar thought he had grabbed Lady Saren and asked it he had his lady and Dashti replied, "No, I'm Dashti, I'm my lady's mucker maid. He let her hand go and he laughed about how he knew all about muckers. He told her to put her arm back out the hole, she didn't want to but she had to listen to him because he was a gentry and she had to do what he said. She did what she was told and and slapped her hand against the wall, she tried to pull her hand back but he said to leave it and he slapped it against the wall again. Then Lady Saren grabbed her and pulled Dashti away from the hole. He left and didn't return for days, and the two girls were very happy about that. A few days later Lord Khasar came back, he was knocking on the metal flap so they would answer him. They yelled leave us alone, all of a sudden the metal flap was torn right out of the bricks. Lord Khasar was upset and threw fire into the hole and started things on fire in the tower. The girls were fanatically putting the fire out and then threw their bucket of waste out the hole and right into his face. He was very upset and left them alone. They were so happy they laughed all night. Since the metal flap was gone they could hear the sounds of night more now than ever and they could hear howling of wolves and the guards shooting at them. Dashti went to look out the hole and a wolf was right there and almost bit her. The cat was hissing and jumped at the wolf and that's the last time they saw the cat. The girls were so depressed about it and Lady Saren kept eating all the food. Dashti was determined to find a out of there, she was watching the rats in the cellar and found that there was a hole where they had been coming in and out. She started pounding on the bricks and make a hole big enough for her to get out. She stood outside for the first time and it felt like she was reborn. She said she would get Lady Saren the next day and they would escape from the tower and go to the nearest town. Dashti was so happy that she got out of that horrible place.

My reading history.

I haven't read very many books because I find most books to be boring. I have read bear books, telling about what to do if you see a bear in the woods and what other people have done. I have read Criminal Justice books because that's what I want to study in college, so I want to get a head start. I have read Nancy Drew books because I like suspense, and not knowing what is going to happen next. I enjoy reading thriller books. I don't have any favorite books. I never really stopped reading completely but I don't read all the time. Some of the worst books I have read were the Harry Potter books, and books that don't make you think. I read usually midday or in the evening. I like reading when we go camping because sometimes I have nothing better to do. I read to educate myself or to find out what is going to happen next.

Book of a Thousand Days

Shannon Hale, Book of a Thousand Days, published in 2007. This book is about these two young ladies that are locked up in a look out tower. One is a Princess, Lady Saren and her maid Dashti, Dashti was a mucker; a mucker so a person that has no home basically and they are the lowest class there is and she is honored to be Lady Saren's maid. Lady Saren's father is locking his daughter up because she refuses to marry the man her father picked out for her. Lord Khasar is up in a very high class but Lady Saren is in love with another man of lower class, Khan Tegus. Since Lady Saren refused her fathers offer for a husband her father is locking her up for sever years to teach her a lesson and thinking that hopefully she will be grateful in what her father does for her. Her father is having the two women put in a look out tower and having it bricked up so that there is no way for them to get out. Her father has put enough food in there for seven years and the only way they can get rid of waste and trash is through a tiny metal flap, where they can dump it out of. Dashti takes care of Lady Saren and cooks and cleans for her in the tower. Lady Saren is so depressed about the whole thing that she is constantly sad and is always afraid. When she hears people talking she thinks that it is Lord Khasar coming for her, and she always runs to Dashti for help. One night when the girls were laying around in their bed Lady Saren runs to Dashti saying, "he has come for me, save me." Dashti realizes that it is her lover Khan and tries to get Lady Saren to go talk to him through the metal flap. Lady Saren refuses to talk to him because she is so upset, therefore she tells Dashti to talk to him for her. Dashti says she can't because its a sin to her ancestors, she begs for forgiveness from the ancestors and talks to Khan acting as Lady Saren. He keeps coming back every night for like four days, he has to travel back home because the guards that guard the girls tower are starting to realize that something is going on. He tells Dashti acting as Lady Saren that he will come back for her after he returns home. He gives them a gift, a cat because of all the mice that the girls have in the tower with them. He leaves and is planning to return very soon, and the girls are waiting for him to come back for them.
